Hosokawa - Pharma-Bantam Pilot Scale
The Pharma Bantam unit is designed exclusively for laboratory and pilot applications. It is ideally suited for fine grinding tasks producing batches from 150 grams up to 15 kilograms/hour. Ideally suited for milling medium fine (500 -100 micron) to fine (50- 150 micron) particles.
Constructed from stainless steel using fabricated and machined construction techniques, polished to 0.8 Micron Ra, this unit was designed with the Pharma Lab in mind from the ground up. The grinding chamber is fitted with a multideflector liner and a retaining screen. Swing hammers provide the impact needed to size reduce the material with a D50 of 20 microns.
Available Options for this unit include:
- Cryogenic milling
- Nitrogen inerting
- Feeding by vibratory, volumetric, gravimetric, twin or single screw units
Other inserts such as a pin disc or knife/star rotor can be fitted making this unit one of the most versatile grinders available on the market today. Bearings are purged to prevent product contamination. The unit can easily be disassembled and the parts can be ultrasonically cleaned or sterilized in an autoclave. For those areas which are classified, an explosion proof design is available.
Of course, one can feed the unit manually as well. Again, whatever the developmental task or pilot batch, the unit has the muscle and the tools to provide the reduction and throughput necessary.Rotors available are the swing hammers, star disc, fixed pins, and knife rotor for the ultimate in selection and versatility.
This unit is actually 5 mills in one. It can be reconfigured in a matter of minutes for what ever test is needed. The results based on this unit are fully scalable to our larger production machines.
