Hosokawa Micron Aggrobot

Back

The Hosokawa Micron Aggrobot is a fully automatic measuring system for compressive and tensile forces of powder beds. Compressive force is measured by forming a powder bed by compression in the cylindrical split cell. Tensile strength is obtained by lifting the upper cell of the compressed sample cell while the lower cell is stationary (vertical tensile fracture method).

Applications:

  • Evaluation on compressive fracture strength of granules to be used for molding
  • Measurement of cohesive force between powder beds and molding dies of tabletting machine
  • Evaluation on powder's agglomeration and caking phenomenon in the storage vessel
  • Quality control or inspection of cohesive force of podwer products
  • Evaluation of strength of agglomerate particles made by compaction method with binders
  • Measurement of powder expansion displacement on pressure release after compression (spring back)
  • Temperature dependence of powder's compression characteristics or tensile strength
  • Consideration of dynamic property of powders in laboratories and test rooms
