Hosokawa - Containment
As the requirements for product and personnel protection within the chemical and agrochemical industry increases, Hosokawa has recognized the need for process containment. Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems provides Downflow Booth technology to ideally suite specific powder handling applications for hazardous, toxic and or explosive materials. These applications include product dispensing, raw material transfer, finished goods sampling, weighing and mixing areas. Dependent upon the exposure levels (OEL's) permitted, each containment device is custom designed. The Downflow recirculation booths are stand alone "plug in" facilities ensuring complete safety for personnel via conditioned downflow of air passing vertically from the booth's ceiling pushing any dust or vapors downward and away from the operator's breathing zone. Downflow booth sizes range from a width of 1.5 meters to 12 meters and from an internal height of 2 meters to 9 meters. Specifically, HMPS has provided downflow booth systems for aluminum, herbicides, pesticides and many other applications.
In addition, Hosokawa also specializes in the design of isolators and booths for complete process systems, eg milling/micronization, roller compaction or drum tipping. In each of these cases, the process machine is actually integrated with the isolator to provide the most ergonomic and operator friendly design.
